What is Pride and Prejudice?

It is a book by Jane Austen, which was first published in 1815. The story follows the main character, Elizabeth Bennet, as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of the British Regency. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman, Mr Bennet.

The novel is set in England in the early 19th century. The story starts when Mr and Mrs Bennet move to Longbourn, a town in the West Sussex region. While they are there, they encounter two gentlemen, who move into the neighborhood: the rich and eligible Mr Bingley, and his status-conscious friend, the even richer and more eligible Mr Darcy.

It is a story about five daughters of the same family. The novel starts when the parents of the five daughters are getting ready to go out. It is a time when the daughters should be getting ready, too, but instead, they are playing and laughing. Their parents get angry at them for not being prepared.

So the story starts when the five daughters are playing and having fun. They are not going to the party, but they are having fun.
